3D CTBT Scanning (Computed Tomography Based Targeting) is an innovative technology and was an integral part of the recent advances in military targeting. Selected to develop the 3D CTBT scanning technology to enable target acquisition and cueing for the joint direct attack munition (JDAM), Northrop Grumman has developed system and software that achieves 90 percent of all targets in 33 percent of the time. The 3D CTBT scanning technology would significantly reduce the time and distance necessary to locate, track and attack these targets, and significantly reduce the number of sorties required.
